Why Social Media is NOT your Business
Aug 18, 2021Did you know that social media (i.e. Instagram) is NOT your business?
So many people will send me DM’s and say, I want to find more clients, I need to make more income, how do I get more followers. But here is the thing, posting on Instagram is NOT a business model.
For so long I thought, "oh if I don’t have time to post my business will fail."
"If I am not on stories, no one will follow me. "
"I don’t have anything to share. "
Maybe you can relate?
This is where really thinking about your business as a business makes a difference. And by business I mean, what problem are you solving for your clients? And what are you known for?
What is the #1 problem you are trying to solve for your clients and how are you going to do it?
This is what I call your “signature method.”
Be super clear on what you do and who you serve.
I talk more about this Signature Method process in this post. There are so many benefits of having this method which goes back to the title of this blog post.

Posting on social media is not a business plan. You could go weeks without posting on social media and still have a successful business. Having a signature method paired with a long-term vision and the right mindset is going to set you up for success. Regardless of your social media plan.
I have my Signature Method, What's next?
Once you have your signature method you can then be clear on the content you want to share (it is more consistent), you can repurpose it more easily AND you can start to build your offers around it.
I hope this inspires you to remember:
- Social media doesn’t define your business.
- There is a really easy strategy fix to start to get more visibility and be more consistent in how you solve problems for your ideal client.
I’d love to hear what your Signature method is! DM me and share.
